Algarve Surf Hostel, Lagos
Well, I had a beer 4 euros for a Heineken at one of the 1st bars I came to in Lagos, & the bartender gave directions which I didn't follow because obviously was wrong (I'd looked at Google) ... anyway stopped for groceries, got lost then found the hostel

Lagos
... stopped at grocery & got bread, arugula, cheese, chocolate, chips, wine & candy, & the wine fit easily in my bag & the cloth bag of groceries hung nicely off the back, & with faith I continued to walk. I took a wrong turn but did find the place; the noisy young peoples' BBQ tipped me off. It's a big house in a neighborhood of big houses, uphill from town. There's a pool, a game room w.TV, couches. I watched some "13 Reasons Why" w/ 4 Canadian girls -- everyone else went into town for serious drinking. I easily am 10 years older than everyone here, yeah.

At breakfast I described the bullfight to my hungover tablemates, who were shocked & grossed out that the bull dies. I had cereal, coffee, a fresh ham & chz croissant (small), & a brownie, then smoked some weed, had a beer & played the guitar outside awhile, singing to myself; then went to the grocery, wanting everything: the pomegranate syrup, the men's leather booties (size 43), the cheap long cardigan, the chips, just everything. Good thing I only had 10 euros. I was there for sunscreen; all I could find was this coconut bronzing milk SPF 30, bought it for 3.70 euros, was probably more better at a pharmacy. I wore suit, weird blue shorts I'm so loving, and pink scarf, and dolphin hat and blue sunglasses and flip flops, -- walked, uphill, Cemetary Road, to the port & the beach Dominic told me about that people don't know is there b/c it's over a hump. The port was cool; I had to pee really bad but admired the fishing boats, net shed, trap piles, trailers; I love the mini-drawbridge over the waterway; saw a large wide panga dive boat pass under me. There's tons & tons of apartments on that hill, in this town; & tons of tourist-activities, ie diving & surfing & small-boat sailing. The beach had a large plain building, sign said "Beach Bar." Were many thatched-umbrella'd chairs, & a lifeguard chair. I threw my crap among a few folks lying out there & swam - brr - cold! Waves big & scary except not even big at all, or at all scary. Hard white sand, shells occasional, & some little seaweed puffballs; extremely nice, fucking ran-tastic. Well I swam, I laid down, ate my sandwich (on a fresh baked bun from hostel, available with breakfast, almost unbelievably great) and an apple; laid down; swam; laid down; decided to walk back because it's really sunny & whatever. Swam once in the pool here. Cool. Having a Sagres. Mm. God. Life is grand. Tomorrow I'll bring a book. Or maybe do a surfing day.

What a shithole! Probably a very cute, chill town, but now it's solid tourist shit. Cool tunnel leading to beach; sand is OK, kinda shelly; and it was chilly; and I saw a band-aid floating; a couple parasailing boats, some inflatable-yellow-cab rental floaty boats; lots of toplessness; I laid in the sun awhile. No lettuce at the grocery, but good bread 1 euro; I had a tomato and cheese sandwich and opened the wine I carried from Lagos; not very good. The terraces are nice here; big padded bed-couches. I turned down the music because it was loud & annoying & nobody's here but me, which is nice. A shady chill-out spot.

Yesterday I noticed the red graffiti on the yellow kiosk, "No te impreges," & thought it funny; today I see the rest: "No te impreges de su odio..."
I think I'm influenced a lot by what I'm reading, and "Angel's Game" is a drag.
I've gone into a few stores but none had English-language books. I feel ashamed of my English. I feel excluded. I dislike to stand out, and apparently I really do. I got a glass of Tinto 2.5 euros. Enjoying the music in here; after a "Tambourine Man" cover, it's been a series of no-lyrics songs. I love no-lyrics.
Today I've eaten: pan tostado & coffee; apple tart & coffee; almonds; a Radler; this wine. I like the light cigarette smoke coming in here. I moved to the chair that faces the window to be out of Mr. Denim's gaze. This wine is just OK. Maybe also my mood & my impact are affacted by the smelliness of my pants; when did I last wash these? Must have been in Madrid. That was only 9 days ago.
Sunnyside Marina is one of the safest places to charter a yacht on Tahoe boat rentals north shore. Surfing, wakeboarding, and skiing are all possibilities! These were up to the task as the industry demanded improved interior layouts and a more comfortable feel. Since this boat has more internal space than every other 24 footers on the market today, we could achieve our target. A Bimini Shade that covers the back half of the boat is included for any rental boat. Reservations must be rendered for a minimum of 4 hours of rental time. On a first-come, first-served basis, shorter durations are eligible.
